Letters From God

The Bridegroom (Our Saviour)

Jesus is aching to see his Church rise up and come into the fullness of her glory before him. He is yearning to take her home with him to show her off to the Father. But at present She is not ready and still hasn't really come to terms with his desire.

His desire is towards Her, He long to be with her in a close and intimate way. He is affianced to her and wants her to love him the way He loves her. But she is hiding from Him, is shy and playing hard to get.

We as the church and the bride need to realize the extent of the love our Bridegroom has for us. It is a hard thing sometimes for some of us to receive the fullness of Jesus' love for us. We often have a distorted view of ourselves and imagine that Jesus thinks we aren't really worthy of his love. He couldn't truely love Me.

I had this kind of response to Jesus for a long time. I would hide from Him and the Father, behind the pillars, in His courts and refuse to come out. I realize now that this was a kind of pride and self conceit . It was not receiving the true gift of his love in humility.

Humility is acceptance of the Lord's truth about yourself in faith; to allow yourself to see you the way He sees you. To see that you are wonderfully loved and cherished by the Son of God, His Father and His Holy Spirit. It takes courage and a humble attitude to completely accept this and yield to his love.

God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. It is so incredibly releasing to finally surrender your pride and accept his love. It is to break the self image within and see yourself in truth.

The Bridegroom is so in love with each and every one of his chosen ones, his sheep. He holds out his hands and wants to draw us into His embrace and cherish us as a lover.

Will we surrender ourselves to be in love and loved by Him?

Isaiah 57.15 For thus says the high and lofty One that inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of contrite and humble spirit to revive the spirit of the humble and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
