My Thoughts on Israel 2

God promised David that his throne would endure for ever. I'm pretty sure that David understood that when God said a man would sit on his throne that he meant a person who was a descendant of David. Not the Messiah/Jesus. Jesus will rule and reign for 1000 years and from David's city, Jerusalem, but not before He returns.

If God's promise is true then where is David's throne? It is not with the Jews. The Jews as we know did not have a king from the time of Jeremiah the prophet. His grandson, Zedekiah, was the last king to rule over the promised land as a descendant of King David. From then on there was no king who is recorded as David's descendant in the bible.

Herod who sat as a king in Judea was not a descendant of David and not even necessary a Jewish believer. He help his position by the decree of the Roman Empire and was under their authority. The Jews fervently denied that Jesus was their king "we have no king but Caesar". And in the last two thousand years there has never been a Jewish monarchy. So where is David's lineage?

If it is true that the Jews are Israel, the only true inheritors of Gods promises and the sum total of the Israelite people, then one could only conclude that the prophetic words of Jacob at the end of his life are nonsense. He specifically said that his words were for the latter or last times, not in his or his son's time. This means they were for our time. We are living in the time of Jacob's words concerning his son's descendants.

If you read these words and look at the history of the Jewish people in the latter time, the last few hundred years, there is no possible way that their history is the fulfillment of Jacob's prophecies. There is no match. Where is the company of nations and the great nation? Where  is the scepter that will never depart from Judah? Where is the wolf of Benjamin? The deer of Naphtali? Dan, who would be a judge?

I'm not saying I have all the answers. Quite simply I Don't!

But  I do see that the British Commonwealth of Nations is the only group of nations like it. That the United States of America has been the greatest nation in the last 100 years. And that both these peoples are of the same ethnic group; Anglo Saxon. Unlike the Jewish people both the British and European countries have monarchies that are very old. These monarchies have not been overthrown or died out, as the French, Spanish and Russian Royal families have been.

Again if this is not what God, through Jacob was talking about, then what was He saying and where is the evidence? There has to be an answer that fits and as I see it this is the best and most viable answer.

The return of the Jews to the promised land is without doubt the fulfillment of bible prophecy and that does relate directly to the Jewish people. It is a necessary condition for the endtimes. That Jerusalem would be a "Cup of Trembling" for all nations. Ie a volatile detonation point in the world. Which it is. Jerusalem and Israel itself is the most contended land in the world. Everyone has an opinion and the world is stacked against it.

Look at the United Nations resolution that challenged Israel very existence, Dec 2017.  What other country has had to fight for its continued existence as Israel has had to? The enemy has and will continue to stir up strife around Jerusalem and Israel until Jesus returns. Because it is a sore and constant irritation to him. He wants to destroy Israel and he will look as if he will do it. But God is in Control and He has the last Word.

I feel strongly that the Lord is going to reveal who Israel truly is. And many will be Very Surprised. Myself included!

1Kings 9:5 I will establish your royal throne over Israel forever, as I promised David your father when I said  You shall never fail to have a man (iysh = man) on the throne of Israel

Gen 49:1-28 "Gather around so that I can tell you what will happen to you in the days to come" Hebrew "achariyth" meaning: latter times, end, the future, posterity

Zec 12:1-3 The Word of the Lord concerning Israel. The Lord, who stretched out the heavens, who lays the foundation of the earth and who forms the spirit of man within him declares "I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that sends all the surrounding people reeling. Judah will be besieged as well as Jerusalem. on that day when all the nations of the earth are gathered against her, I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock for all nations. All who try to move it will injure themselves.
