Letters From God

He Has Nothing on Me

The Lord Jesus said before he died that the prince of this world had come but he had nothing on Him. Satan heard Him say this but he didn't believe it. He thought in his pride that he would "get" Jesus this time. That Jesus would be finally subject to him, Satan.

The hatred and animosity, the jealousy, the envy, the anger and resentment within the enemy of God, who had chosen to make himself God's enemy. He had chosen to lay claim to the throne of God, the very place of worship, praise and honour due to the Only Living God. Satan hates everything of God with an abiding fullness that knows no depth.

Having chosen to rebel against God, having received the consequences of that rebellion, the banishment, the totally rejection of God for his being and expelled from the presence of God forever, he has waged war against God ever since. The object of the warfare are the souls of men. Satan has always aimed to corrupt mankind away from God and over to him. He has used any and every method available to him to achieve this goal.

Lies, deceits, power, glamour, self exaltation, hatred, bitterness, covetousness, jealousy, anger, strife, envy, corruption of self, destruction, chaos, forbidden knowledge, contention, idolatry: the list goes on and on. It is a never ending litany of disaster that mankind has been on the receiving end of ever since his fall from grace. And Jesus knew every bit of it.

He was the only man who has ever lived on the earth whom Satan could not corrupt.  He certainly tried to corrupt Him, (the temptation in the wilderness)  Which is why Jesus and only Jesus, being without sin, could keep Himself separated and holy to God throughout His whole life. Only He could become the unspotted perfect Lamb of God. The Only One who could shed His blood  to take away the sin of the world. He is the only One ever who could and would or will be able to be the sacrificial Lamb fit for our redemption. No one else ever: only Him.

Satan had nothing on Him, no hooks, that could keep Him in Death. Nothing that Satan could use to compromise His perfection before God. He was not able to accuse Jesus of Anything because Jesus was totally without sin.

Our Beautiful, Wonderful, Marvelous Savour. Word can not express the debt we owe Him, or the exaltation we owe Him. Only worship can.

Be lifted up on high, be elevated above all for ever and ever Jesus Jeshua, King and Lord, Sovereign God, Beloved Bridegroom.

Jhn 14:30 NIV I will not say much more to you, for the prince of this world is coming.
He has no hold over me,
MSG I'll not be talking with you much more like this because the chief of this godless world is about to attack. But don't worry - he has nothing on me, no claim on me.
NLT I don’t have much more time to talk to you, because the ruler of this world approaches.
He has no power over me,

who didst claim the Gentiles as an inheritance!

“Great and marvelous are Your works, O Lord God, the Almighty; Righteous and true are Your ways, King of the nations!
